So Ive learned of a few concerts coming to town this year and it got me wondering. What bands or artists would play at your dream concert? Lets pretend its an all day festival so you get 10 slots. Im just curious as to see what kind tastes we all have.

I doubt any of you guys would come to my concert lol

(In no particular order)
1-Ozzy ( or black Sabbath)
2-Metallica
3-Korn
4-Otep
5-In this Moment
6-Winds of Plague
7-Slipknot
8-Shadows Fall
9-Pink Floyd
10-Lamb of God

If all of these bands were together for one show Id die.
It was a lot harder to make this list then I originally thought.

*edit* this is also a way for me to expand my genre of listening. Maybe Ill get into something less....heavy.

Hmm, interesting...
A lot of these bands are no longer together so I'll never be able to see them, which is why they are here.
All the others I've seen multiple times, but there's nothing wrong with that!
In no particular order:

Metallica (Old school Met though, not the new shit)
Operation Ivy
Black Flag
Circle Jerks
Pennywise
No Use For a Name
Good Riddance
NOFX
Off!
Ramones

Dream concert...

High on Fire
Sleep
The Sword
Clutch
Samsara Blues Experiment
Earthless
St. Vitus (ha ha or any of Winos bands fuck it)
Windhand
Electric Wizard

Fuck Metallica.

Sabbath with Dio
Sabbath with Ozzy
Motorhead (just to say I saw Lemmy before he turned to dust and old whiskey and coke)

Ahh, we have a metal fan! I've seen High on Fire at SXSW (love Snakes for the Divine). Seen The Sword open for Metallica. :boink:

If you haven't heard of them, check out Black Breath. The album Sentenced to Life is pure awesomeness.

I'm not much of a metal fan, but I have seen Clutch. Way way way back when. One of the loudest shows I've ever been to. I still listen to their first few albums now and again.
I'm liking these lineups though, we should definitely make sure they are all scheduled on different days so I can attend them all. :thumb:

Clutch is a great band. You might look into some of their later albums. The sound developed into a more stoner bluesy rock sound.

check out Black Breath

Hard hitting. Not bad at all. You should check out All Pigs Must Die. Here is a link to my favorite song. God is War is an outstanding album IMO.

Fuck Metallica

Anyone who says this is a terrorist. How can anyone deny that they made 4 of the greatest metal albums ever (Kill em All, Master, Lightning, and Justice), and, IMO, the greatest metal song ever (Four Horsemen).

I would like to play this, but not as much as I would like not to play it. I fear all y'all's judgment of my music taste.

What judgement? I like pretty much anything. If it sounds good it is good, and that's up to the individual.

I guess if I have Katy Perry in my list, Freak can always join me right? :P

I'm all in if Katy-my-boobs-are-cupcakes-or-candy-or-anything-I'd-stuff-my-face-in-Perry is in your line-up ! I couldn't care less if she could barely sing, I'd just enjoy to watch her bounce around like my own private Willy Wonka female counterpart fantasy !

Whoever told him he has a good singing voice should be on stage with him, as they deserve a round to the head as well...

Oh come on, you may not care for the music but there is no denying he has a good voice. He's up there with Paul Rodgers and John Fogerty.

If it were my dream concert then I have included the era and ambience in which I want the artists to perform from. As that would truly define a magic moment in time for me.

Bob Marley and the Wailers - Rainbow Theatre, London. 1977

Fleetwood Mac - Madison Square Garden. 1977

Rolling Stones - Madison Square Garden. 1972

Louis Armstrong - Paris. 1965

Jimi Hendrix - Woodstock Festival. 1969

The Who - Leeds. 1970

The Beatles - Saville Row, London. 1969

Lou Reed - NYC. 1972

Primal Scream - Amsterdam. 1991

The Doors - San Francisco. 1967

As you can see, I was born in slightly the wrong decade for my dream concert to ever really happen! But good fun looking back at what must have been some amazing gigs.
Thanks for the great thread Korny.

Only Limp Bizkit song worth anything, strictly because it summed up my feelings towards my boss when this came out.

Their entire Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog flavored water CD is worth listening to.
