My cousin who also happens to be my best friend is moving back to Montreal from Singapore this summer. My plan is to get together with a couple of other friends at my place for some PS3 multiplayer. I plan on picking up either Modnation Racers or Blur but was wondering if anyone else had some good suggestions for some good local multiplayer games (3 or more players). http://aerre.pair.com/tagadmin/tag_home/images/smilies/this.gif

Thanks in advance. http://aerre.pair.com/tagadmin/tag_home/images/smilies/cool2.gif

A simple, but fun, PSN game is Zombie Apocalypse. I think you can download it for $10. It is a overhead view game like the old NES classic Smash TV, but with zombies. Like I said, not the most advance game in the world, but still a ton of fun for the price. You can even go online with it.

I second this recommendation. My brother purchased this game and three of us had an awesome time mowing down zombies definitely worth the amount of money for the game!! Another possibly cheaper but definitely seizure inducing zombie fun is" I MAD3 A GAM3 WITH ZOMBI3S" (spelling is something like that) it is OLD SCHOOL, just try the free version.

My brother said the best part of that game is the song

Mod-Nation is fun (IMO). There is as much fun in making mods, tracks and karts as there is in racing them. Plus, its multiplayer and split screen. You can play it around the younglings too. I can probably advise other games but I don’t really know your preference…as I’m not into some games that just involve sheer mindless chaos. Do you like objective base games (Like me) or just random pick up and blow everything to hell type games?

LOL I forgot about the song, that is true considering I could only play one round before I felt like I was about to have a seizure, I just liked spinning around trying to take out all the zombies I could!!

Thanks for the recommendations so far.

Soulja, I'm not really picky when it comes to local multiplayer as almost anything can be fun when you are playing with a bunch of buddies. From racing to mindless shooting, it's all good. http://aerre.pair.com/tagadmin/tag_home/images/smilies/good.gif

I agree Jackie R, guess it depends on the company and timing.

In that case, when I have friends over we mainly play Madden, 2k Basketball, Backyard Baseball, Fight Night 4 Boxing, Hustle Kings Pool, Zen Pinball, ragdoll kung fu, Rainbow Six Vegas2, (terrorist hunt, split screen), Ghost Recon (split screen), tekken, Smackdown vs. Raw, ModNation racers, MidNight club, Tony Hawk Pro skaters, The orange box (portal), Warriors (ps2) and B-Boy (break dance game ps2), Red Dead Revolver (ps2 split screen) this is all I can think of at the moment. These are my “friends are over “games. I’m sure there are a few more, but these held the most memories…I'll probably add some more later, hope these help.

That definitely helps...thanks! Do any of those 'split screen' games offer 4 player split screen or is it just 2? http://theadultgamer.com/images/smilies/unsure.gif

Mod-nation has it, and a few last gen games use alot of 4 players too like "Red dead revolver". I'm not sure about the four player modes for this gens games or the ones I mentioned, but I'll check out my game boxes when I get home from work. I'll respond later. :)

Bomberman Ultra
You can play up to 8 players I think on the same screen (provided you have the controllers)... and it's FUN!

Pro Evolution Soccer (if you like football - mmm I meant soccer ;-) ) is good as well for many players (8 I think) on the same screen.

Go for FIFA 10, a much better system although I am biased because I'm <namedrop>friends with the game's producer</namedrop>.

Bias apart, the reviews all say FIFA 10 has just overtaken PES to hold the crown (probably until next year).

The Rockband series is excellent for party games, especially if you can all agree on music.

That may be worth a look. http://aerre.pair.com/tagadmin/tag_home/images/smilies/good.gif

That would be a great choice except that I would need to invest in the peripherals. Don't want the wife to kill me. http://theadultgamer.com/images/smilies/chasehatchet.sml.gif

Thanks again for all the great suggestions everyone! http://aerre.pair.com/tagadmin/tag_home/images/smilies/wave.gif
