I know different objectives call for different classes, but what is your favorite class to play most of the time, especially when you are just defending and don't need a particular class? Changing your vote is enabled.

My favorite class right now is the medic, followed closely by the engineer.

IMO the medics ability to revive other players and buff their health, metabolism, and make other players temporarily invincible is the key to winning a match most of the times. I was surprised when I finally got to play online just to see no one else was running as a medic. Seems most people use whatever class in needed to complete the objective, but a good medic is essential to keeping your front line strong. Two medics who stay near the back of the group and take turns running up to revive and buff other players is a great strategy that me and a random were using last night. One would stay behind cover as the other ran up into the heat of battle. That way if one of us fell the other would run up and revive them, so we always had at least two medics at the front line. The other team could not break through and we owned that match. I should of sent that guy a friend request.

I also unlocked the medics ability to revive himself. EPIC WIN!!!! Just like in KZ3, other players don't take the time to finish you and kill you, so multiple times last night I was able to let the enemy run past me, revive myself and stand up behind them, and put a bullet in the back of their head. One time I was even able to get behind the enemy line like this, capture an enemy health post, switch to engineer, double the post's health bonus with my engineers ability, and then go repair the bot and escort it to the end of the map before the enemy realized what was going on and could get back to me. SO EPIC!!!! Got best player that match by far. The next thing I am going to unlock is the medics ability to buff other players health by two dots instead of just one.

Also love the engineer. That class IMO is the most versatile. The medium turret is great and I can't wait to see what the heavy one does. I unlocked the ability to buff other players damage by twice the amount as the engineers default buff, and man, it is great watching the op-for get mowed down in a blink of an eye right after I buffed my team mates. Like I said on other threads, the engineer ability to double the bonuses from posts is a game changer. I find myself doing this before trying to complete the main objective. At one point last night I had two extra health dots from a doubled post I captured and then a medic with double health buff also increased my health to a total of 4 extra dots! That extra health plus my increased damage buff I gave myself as the engineer = BEAST MODE! I will unlock the Armor ability next so hand out armor to my team mates, and then if I have the points left (which I probably will not) I will unlock the ability to defuse bombs faster.

My biggest problem is trying to figure out how to distribute my points. I still have to unlock and buy the revive grenade for the medic where you can toss a nade and revive teammates in the area of the blast. As a result, my soldier and Operative classes are pretty bare. The only thing I unlocked for the soldier is the ability to increase the amount of ammo a team mate can carry, and I haven't unlocked anything for the operative, although I would like the firewall perk and the cortex bomb. There have been many times I wish I had the bomb after I go all Leroy Jenkins and get dropped in a group of op-for.

I love my engineer so far. Though Operative is fun at a higher level. I really like the double command post skill. Nothing like having nearly unlimited health.

I picked Soldier, I love that class. But I'd say Operative is very close and may surpass the Soldier class very soon.

I wish more people would run soldier so I don't keep running out of ammo, or add more ammo for the assault rifles. I don't understand why you get several clips worth of ammo for the SMGs but only two clips for the AR especially when the ARs don't take much less ammo to kill someone. Seems like a silly design decision. The AR weapons NEED to have more ammo. I shouldn't run out after killing 2-3 people. That is why I use my SMG as the secondary in my middle weight class.

In order, I would have to say engineer, medic, soldier, and operative.

My favorite so far has been enginneer, but I'm starting to play soldier because, I too am tired of running out of ammo and finding no soldiers so I'll be spamming ammo everywhere.

Tops is Engineer (minoring in Operative), but going to start a big soldier with a big gun since Engineer is very popular. It will be good to start leveling up another class so I can balance out whatever group we have, plus I can try to put together the ugliest tank character possible.

I am actually happy so far that I am the only person who picked medic. I find I am one of only a couple if playing with real people instead of bots. When I run around buffing health and metabolism people seem almost shocked, and make a point of turning around and using whatever buffs they have to help me. Buffing = WINNING!

My favorite is the engineer but a very close second would be the medic. You're absolute right Nate. Buffing is the key to victory!

so far i've been mainly focused on upping engineer and medic classes... i gotta say that i do prefer engy.
the mines and turrets are awesome defensive implements and the ability to buff damage and armor make the engineer an asset for sure.

So far, i have 2 characters... for each character i've decided to focus my skills points on one particular class, though i'm starting to see that this is limiting in game as you can't switch characters in game (or can you?) so when in a match, say i'm using my engy character, if there are no objectives for that character, i'm kinda relegated to support objective attempts...
i'm thinking that it'd be good to have 1 character that has a few points on every character, at least the buff abilities so that no matter what the objective is, you can pitch in towards that AND help give your teammates the edge on the battlefield.

That's been my strategy so far. I have 2 characters (one Security and one Resistance). I realized quickly that although I have a class preference, it really helps to have a few perks unlocked for other classes if needs be. ;)

Jackie you do know that each character you create has both a resistance and a security alter ego?? When you customizing your character press the "triangle" buttom and it will switch to the other side.

yeah i didn't notice that until i went to play some security missions with my resistance dude and then he switched over to the default guy and i'm staring at him thinking "what happened to my dude and where the f. did that guy come from?"
LOL.

Ah....so that's why I see missions in other campaign at the "mission select' screen. That explains a lot...thanks!

Does your 'alter ego' level up along with your main guy or do you level him separately?

as far as i'm aware, your characters levels and skills/abilities are the same regardless of what campaign you're on... might also be the same for weapons/attachments that you've set up.. but i haven't checked out all the details on that.

The character levels up together. Basically you are creating one character with two skins, one for security and one for resistance.

I posted this in another thread awhile back about customizing your character.

One thing to note about character creation. When your in the customization screen you create a unique look for your character as both Resistance & Security. On the XBOX you tap the "Y" button (triangle on the PS3) on this screen and you will switch from one side to the other.

Some people were wondering why their character did not look like what they had created. But if your characters look was done under the resistance side and you find yourself playing on the security side you will just get a generic looking character. You need to customize for both security & resistance.

In the video they are creating their character as a member of the security force. If you look at the top right of the screen you will see the yellow "Y" button. When you press it you will switch to the resistance side. Your character will be stripped down and you can customize using the resistance looks.

That's for sure. Imagine how much easier it would have been to hack the missile controls if, while you and Skeet (Cow) were hacking, I was health buffing and someone was picking off the bad guys from a distance.

Ya I usually try to be a sniper in the fps games I choose to play. I am not always fast enough though, but I usually at least get the person low health to be finished off easier.

I gave this a shot (sniper rifle as my secondary) and I'm loving it now that I have the Dragov. Thanks for the tip.

I am leveling up a second charter but this time, I'll be focusing on engineer unless my team needs me to change.

Borlax and Skeet...remember last night? "Where are the fucking medics?!?" :))

LOL! Yup, I remembered that. That is why I changed character back to my level 20 medic rather than my level 8 soldier. No good medics = little chance of winning because you can't keep your front line strong. IMO if we have at least three of us in a group we should roll as a medic, an engineer, and a soldier. That way can use all the buffs, not run out of ammo, and the medic can take the rear so it is more likely that he can revive the other two if they fall. Then either the soldier or the engineer can switch to operative when an objective requires it, because I think we always need a medic on duty.

wow the lack of Op love is suprising.... in fairness i pick engineer as well heavy with a chinzor + wep buff + turrents + mines = you aint gettin by this choke point. also i buff everyone leaving only 1 pip for me and my chinzor.

but Op is a very very close 2nd just for the suicide run lols. disguise get behind lines open fire on medic and cortex bomb when they take you out..... nice way to get 3-4 kills (unless ai is runnin aim bot mode) i never could get into medic im just not the cleric type.

LOL! Seems most don't. I love it. If you are running as your super engineer, I will run as my super medic.

Your weapons buff + my double health buff + my metabolism buff + my speed buff + my adrenaline buff = YOU ARE IRON MAN!!!!!

I go after objectives, but I put a priority on reviving people and keeping your health buffed to keep the front line strong. I had the Lazarus nade, but I took a level penalty so I could change my perks, so I have to earn it back. Love being able to revive a group of people without having to come out from behind cover.

Note to self: Soldier with increased grenade damage + increased grenade blast radius + faster grenade regeneration + faster supply refill + assault rifle with grenade launcher attachment = godlike! Love this set up now. Great way to break through the enemies line and clear out an area. You can just walk into a room, launch a grenade, knock them on their asses and then finish them off. Also, with the Molotov cocktail, you have a back up in case they start to stand back up before you can finish them off. Had a couple people on the other team rage quit last night when I would knock them on their ass with the nade launcher attachment, they would try to get back up, and then I would knock them down again with the Molotov. FUN!

I only have two characters so far. My first is maxed at level 20 and is a medic/soldier medium. He has all the medic and soldier perks I wanted. I didn't see a need to get all the abilities with one class since you can only map 3 at a time to the D pad, and with the medic that isn't enough for all of them condering the medic has adreneline, metabolism, speed and lazurus nade. I decided to not get the speed since it seemed the least useful. If the medic droid has to be mapped to the d pad, I will be removing the adreneline boost and replacing it. Right now I have room on the dpad for the three soldier abilities I have with molotav, flash, and satchel charges, but once we get the napalm nade, I will have to remove one of those. So, keep in mind that when you level up, you can't use everything because there just isn't enough buttons to map them to. In fact, when the DLC comes out I will probably take a level penalty and redistribute my points so I don't waste points on the perks I am not going to use anymore.

id drop satchel for pyro they can be seen and shot at after placed.... i tried to make my medic half engineer but to get the gat turrent its 3 points >< imo thats the best skill a engineer can have lol followed by 2 mines. just lvl'd my medic to 20. its hella amusing to bounce nades to get people behind cover :))
