Just found out about this today. I am sure it will not be the best FPS, and probably will not live up to the original, but I know the Wii version was supposed to be good, and with a better graphics engine this one will likely be better. Still, really doubt I will be getting it right away, because it is coming out around the same time as Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3, which isn't a smart move IMO, but if it is good I am sure I will get it as some point because the N64 game is the game that made console shooters popular and I wasted countless hours playing it.

The remake of GoldenEye is being remade yet again, this time for the 360 and PS3.

By all rights, the Wii iteration of GoldenEye 007 was a modern rehash of the classic Nintendo 64 shooter. In practice however, the game was much more. The Escapist's Greg Tito gave the game a glowing review, saying it featured "some of the best multiplayer the Wii has to offer."

Name recognition plus actual, verifiable quality gave the Wii remake respectable sales figures. Activision, never one to look a look a gift horse in the wallet, hopes to recapture that magic (and comically huge bags of cash) by remaking GoldenEye yet again, this time for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

"We are beyond ecstatic to debut GoldenEye 007: Reloaded to the millions of fans who have been clamoring for it to arrive on Sony and Microsoft home consoles," said Activision Executive Vice President David Oxford.

This latest iteration of James Bond's greatest virtual adventure features a brand new graphics engine, and online multiplayer for up to sixteen players. Initially the game will feature ten multiplayer maps that, in a nod to the game's N64 roots, can also be played locally with up to three other people via 4-player split screen multiplayer.

The game will also support Sony's Move peripheral. As of yet we don't exactly know how this will work, though Sony's Senior Vice President Rob Dyer seems appropriately excited by the concept.

"By bringing together GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, and PlayStation Move's Sharp Shooter, we are continuing to expand the new world of motion-based entertainment appealing for hardcore fans and only possible on PlayStation," Dyer said.

Officially, Activision has yet to announce a release date or pricing details, but if you believe Amazon France, the game is scheduled to hit retail on October 28.

Those "possible" screenschots look pretty good. I loved Goldeneye on the N64 as well...I see a rental in my future.

I got the screen shots from Gamespot. Hopefully that means they are legit. I really hope it is good, but will not be surprised if it is not.

Definitely a gamefly game for me. Couldn't they give it a different title? Just seems unattractive to rehash the name once again.

They are obviously trying to cash in on the name for people like me who still have a nostalgia boner for the original. They have made newer Bond games, but they just don't sell that well.

So it's going to have the same everything as the original (maps, weapons, etc.) with just updated graphics for the HD consoles?

Apparently it is going to be just like the Wii version that came out last year which is different than the original, but apparently was really good. I know Lum has it and loves it.

hmmmmm. Could this possibly get Gort to update to an HD console? lol

She's posted quite a few videos as well. Gameplay looks like a lot of fun.

Look better than I expected, but AI looks dumb as hell (could be on easy difficulty).

Either way, too many good games coming out at the end of this year and beginning of next year, so I will likely never play this one.

Very positive review from IGN, although the score of 8/10 doesn't make much sense when they say the SP is fantastic and the MP online and offline is great as well, and they only negative they really had was the story isn't great but it still doesn't take too much away from the otherwise great SP gameplay: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/ ... lot;read;3 (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/goldeneye-reloaded/review.html?tag=topslot;read;3)

May rent this one day. Too many good games right now. If this was any other year, I would probably get this.

I got this for Christmas and jumped into the MP after playing a few levels of the campaign. And I have to say I love it. The MP is very deep. It has a nice leveling system and it seems like Brink, it doesn't take itself too serious. Even the highest level players aren't usually too dominating.
I'll be playing this off and on for sure.
It is easily worth a rental. ANd I think its on sale pretty cheap at this point as well.
Better then I expected. for sure.

I saw my nephews and my son playing this on the Wii a couple of weeks ago (at my brothers house). If I had realized you could play 4 player split screen on the Wii ... I would have bought it for the Wii a long time ago.

I have been playing more of this then anything else lately. This is a really good game. Spawns can be terrible though. WIth BF3 and MW3 coming out around the same time. this game didn't get much love. They should have waited to release it till this spring. It would have gotten more play,

I may consider giving this a go. Getting a bit worn on fps but the Bond theme may be enough for me.
