this is probably an odd one...but any flint knappers out there? A lot of us archaeologists do this as experimental archaeology to learn how our ancestors made stone tools. The video is not of what I have done myself, but thought I would post it to give some an idea of what it is.

i do not do this but ive been able to find many points. My mom has thousands she has found over the years.

we really discourage people from picking them up, though when it's on private land it's perfectly legal. Reason being is that if there is an archaeological site associated with the point and the point is picked up it loses all its context of association
