Im a recreational shooter. I love long distance shooting the most followed closely by skeet, trap, sporting clays.
For long distance I currently shoot a Weatherby Mark IV chambered in .30-378. Im looking at replacing that with a remington in a .308 pretty shortly.
For clays Im shooting a Benneli SBE. Cant Beat Benneli in my opinion.

speak to fr33dom (sp?) - he sells them!

Of course it is illegal to own guns over here (exceptions for gun clubs).

I've got a .45 Ruger. I do go recreational shooting in the desert, however bought it for home protection after a tweaker tried forced entry into a house we rented a few years back. He was pounding on the door at 1 a.m. screaming that he just got jumped and was being chased and to open the door. Moron didn't realize I had a peep hole and saw he looked fine and there was another person peeking around the corner of the entry, waiting for me to open the door so they could charge in. I told him to run to my backyard for safety while I get my gun (which I didn't have at the time) and call the cops. Once I said that, him and his friend took off in the opposite directions. After that, I figured I'd better get the gun to back it up...

I love shooting guns!

I've got several rifles, shotguns and handguns for the assorted hunting and paper punching purposes. Recently I've started shooting 3 gun competitions and have thought seriously about trying out some USPSA handgun matches.

Out of all my guns, I love my AR the most. :x That is one of the funnest guns I've ever shot!

Without bringing politics into it, I have reasons as to why I don't think access to firearms is a good idea.

I'm not sure why JB is happy about the UK gun laws, but I can tell you that I'm glad we have similarly restrictive legislation here in Canada. Why, you ask? Well, I live in a city with a population of approximately 1,000,000, and last year there were a grand total of 14 murders. Two of those murders were historical crimes that were only discovered during the year, so that's a net of about 12. The year before there were just 10. I don't live in some kind of crime-free utopia. We have plenty of property crime and a fair share of violent crime, but because there are so few firearms floating around we simply don't have all that many fatalities.

This was right after I bought her:

This was last night (sorry for the crappy, late night, poor light, cell phone pics). Did some minor mods. Removed the scope and gave to a friend. Added Red Dot + Magnifier, as well as Tactical Light with cable and button attached to lower for index finger operation... I love this AR. Still pretty giddy like 12 hours later... <3

Love seeing the pics of the guns. I need to take a pic of all mine this weekend, and post it. One thing to keep in mind for all of you with your guns is to make sure they are covered on your home owners policy. I have my own agency and our home policies have a limit on guns of $2,500 and I bet some of you have more than that. Make sure you document your guns and have pics of them so if something does happen you have proof.

I plan on getting new stocks for my SKS and my Mosin

Nice video! Looked like my kind of fun! I finally got my gun safe for my birthday, now waiting on my permit to arrive any day now. Then all I will need is a holster. Thinking ankle holster for when I wear jeans, and a clip for my waist band so I can keep it nearby and handy! Of course, by the time I get my permit in, I will be student teaching which means my gun will be sitting at home in my safe.....

OH BOY!!!! congrats and I'm sure you'll find something...Still haven't pulled the trigger (pun intended) on getting mine but I do have a CC special stainless .40 S&W with an extended mag (so it actually fits in my hand) and a compact Blued steel .40 as well, either would work. Should I hold out for the Glock mmmmmm doubt that's gonna be anytime soon.

On another note I have a date with my daughter for this Saturday, go get lunch then go to the range for her first time. 100 rounds of .22LR and a pink Cricket for her to learn on we CAN"T WAIT!!!!!

Since I live in Quebec , Canada, I don not have access to any kind of guns (well except those for hunting, but you need all sorts of permits and registrations). We are going to the Mass. seaside for my vacations next week and my wife got me a very surprising gift. I always have been a WW2 freak and I'm a avid gamer, so I kinda like guns . Since it's also my B-Day, she decided to book me an afternoon of shooting guns in a firing range in NH where I'll be able to shoot MP40s, Tommy guns, MG42s and the likes...
I fired guns twice in my life and they where .12 shotty and .22 varmin rifle !!! So imagine my face when I'll be firing those babies !!!
will be posting pics as soon as I'll be back !!

Any ideas on what guns I should absolutely try and wich I've got to avoid for my first time ?! Anything that's .50 cal is kinda scary (especialy the Desert Eagle... a handgun that powerfull....not for me !). I really wanna try a russian AK47, the german Sturmgehwehr, th M1 Garand and I<d freak if they have an MG42 in stock....my wife picked the place because they have a great variety of vintage ww2 guns...but they also have a wide choice of modern weapons as well....

I always wanted to try a Thompson but, it fires 45 Cal so I bet it has a bit of a kick. Handgun wise, 357 Magnum packs a bit of a punch but is controllable. .40 is pretty nice too. Might want to try a 45 just to be able to say that you did. I only fired one once when I was about 17, I thought it had a bit too much kick/ muzzle rise. I basically had to completely re-aim with each shot, it kicked me so far off target with each shot. BTW, that is an awesome B-day present, I hope you enjoy!

Today was the day !
I got to Manchester firing range in NH to have fun with guns for the first time ! I was soooooo nervous and a little bit scared, but the very friendly and helpfull staff made me feel at ease and confortable with those deadly contraptions ! What I had in mind was very pricey and kinda heavy stuff for my first time (I wanted to shoot a Luger and Sturmgehwerr or an M1 Garand ) so I followed the cool staff girl who took great care of me (unfortunately I dont remember her name !!) and went for a Glock 9mm. for starters and the M4 as main dish and 100 rounds for each ! They had a nice Scar and a killer vintage AK47 but the rental fee was a little too pricy for me at that point !
I was sweating and shaking like crazy as I loaded my first magazine in the firing booth....took aim, took a deep breath...pressed the trigger and then....I was hooked ! What a feeling ! It is very hard to explain, but it felt amazing !!!
But I really fell in love with the M4 (wich is my favorite gun in MW3 !).The sight, the sound, the action, the feel of it, everything about it was pure delight !
I'm going back as soon as I cross the US border again !

There has got to be some ranges near you no? Ontario maybe? If you ever visit Toronto, there is an indoor range 45 minutes north. All ranges in Toronto have been shut down thanks to old mayor fuck head David Miller. Surprisingly there are STILL gun crimes committed within the GTA.

So after kind of a s**tty 4 or 5 months I treated myself to a Christmas present/new toy and blew a significant chunk of my second job's paycheck on this beauty.

@ Landshark - I picked up the 9, which I'm very comfortable with. I've played around with a friend's 40 and was actually thinking about a 40. This particular shop has an indoor range associated with it where they rent different models out for a little "try before you buy." So I went to rent and give the 40 a whirl, but they only had the 9 to rent, so that's what I stuck with. My accuracy is already abysmal, and the added snap of a 40 makes it even worse. I'd still like to get one some day, but maybe after more familiarity.

@Jack - I had CCW in the back of my head with this one. CA is extremely weird when it comes to CC, as one could imagine. The state makes it very difficult and more or less at the discretion of the sheriff. So in some places (mainly interior, agricultural CA) plenty of people have CC permits. In my county, however, I think there are something like 9 permits in the whole county - for a pop of prolly 500,000 people (!). I've heard from guys who lost their CC here that you either have to know the sheriff or have a stalker/have been sexually assaulted. I don't know the sheriff and sincerely hope to never encounter the latter, so I'm out. But hey, times change and this Sig will be around for a looong time.

I forget who I was talking to the other night. we were discussing where to find ammo and I mentioned I found a site that lists a bunch of prices from various online sellers in one place. Here is the link. http://www.gunbot.net/

I have a Sig P250 .40 cal. A Mossberg 715T tactical .22. Very fun to shoot but terrible to clean. And a soviet union made and used in WWII Mosin Nagant. Shoots a 7.62x54mm round.
Tennessee is a tough place to shoot as there is hardly any public land at all. You have to know someone with private land to shoot.

We had a nice guys only get away weekend last Friday thru Sunday. As a rule we took very few pictures, less evidence to worry about. We did take some footage of one of our drive troughs on the shooting course we set up. 4 Targets and a golf cart. good stuff.

We had a lot of fun but were being very safe about it too. Nobody got hurt if you don't count hangovers. We had another shooting area too right off the deck. The same picnic table with all of the guns was used to site in. We also had a 3/8 inch steel plate we shot through with the AR 15s and the SKS. Both punched through w/o any trouble. The SKS had a bit of an easier time and made the plate ring like a bell with each hit. We also had a skeet launcher we pulled out and went through about a case of skeet and a bunch of shotgun shells. It was some much needed fun, i unloaded a few years worth of stress in those woods and came home feeling refreshed.
