Found the first review. 5/5: http://www.allaboutthegames.co.uk/featu ... e_id=12203 (http://www.allaboutthegames.co.uk/feature_story.php?headline=Call-of-Duty--Modern-Warfare-3&article_id=12203)

Aside from the obvious tweaks to the game's multiplayer, there's nothing in MW3 that should surprise anyone that's played any of the previous games. But for fans of the series that's no bad thing. New maps, weapons, killstreaks and modes are all that's required to keep the faithful, well, faithful. The single player, meanwhile, rather than being a throwaway companion to the real meat and bones of the game is instead a brilliantly bombastic showcase of set-pieces and action. Take Call of Duty for what it is and embrace its dumb, nonsensical and scripted, but nonetheless hugely entertaining action sensibilities. And for those that continue to dismiss to the series as soul-less and immature, in an industry where we celebrate games like Bulletstorm for using the term 'dick tits' or Saints Row 3 where you can bludgeon people to death with a giant dildo, perhaps some perspective is required.

Seems to be a very positive review. The one thing I didn't like was that special ops AND the survival mode are only two players. I can understand that for special ops, but two players in survival seems stupid. They should of made it four people like zombies.

Does anyone know if this game can be played split screen?

Son of a .... I swore after BlOps I was done with CoD. I swore MW3 would be the first time I didn't buy a CoD title.

IGN review. 9/10. Single player is good but same old same old, but MP is fantastic and the best yet in a COD game.

From the MW3 Wiki

Like other Special Ops missions, co-op is available for this mode, both online or split-screen

Hope it helps bud.

If my wife wouldn't kill me (because I just got BF3 and UC3), I would go get this today. Yes, it is COD and nothing really that new, but it looks very well made and a shit ton of fun. Looks like this could be the return to COD glory. BF fans I am sure will still find that series more entertaining because the two series cater to different types of players, but that is just a matter of preference. This looks like it could be everything a run and gun FPS fan could want.

I changed my mind, James. :)) I just :x COD when it isn't Treyarch.

People crap on Treyarch, but the truth is they supported their game a heck more than IW did on MW2. I am actually keeping my BO disc whereas I traded MW2 2 or 3 weeks ahead of time. We shall see if they have changed their ways. The only problem I really had with the game was the spotty hit detection. I am really looking forward to playing it tonight. I am going to try out the shotguns and see if they changed anything.

Had a copy in my hands and then common sense came over me and put it back down. Thank you Saints Row The Third poster for being there at the right moment.

From Giant Bomb,

I asked you last year, and I'll ask it again now: Do you want to play more Call of Duty? It sounds like such a simple question, right? But even if you've kept current with the series and enjoyed it up to this point, it's a good time to check in and ask if you want more. Do you? For millions and millions of players out there, the answer will probably be an automatic "of course I do, why would you even ask?" But if you're actually on the fence about this thing, hopefully it helps you to know that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 provides more Call of Duty with some new maps, new modes, and new options. It doesn't make grand changes to the things that have worked in the past, though it does make some smart additions that some will certainly appreciate. But if you've finally reached your limit on the scripted campaigns and COD's specific style of multiplayer, none of those changes are going to pull you back in. It probably doesn't take a genius to figure all that out, but if that's all you want to know about this year's Call of Duty, well... now you know, I guess.

They gave it a 4/5.
