That could be the Achilles' heel for the Wii U, not sure if Nintendo should of left that channel in there.
But here are a couple of other points. The Wiii channel is sandboxed, meaning that these "hacks" would be contained within the emulator and not the entire console.

Nintendo has been very aggressive with updates. 3DS gets a lot of firmware updates to prevent this kind of thing, because of the massive issue they had with flashcarts on the DS. It's been out for almost 2 years and it hasn't been hacked.

Who knows maybe they will update the system to remove it?

Although it would be nice to play SNES games on the GamePad. Just saying. I'd like to play Super Metroid on the GamePad.

I hope they can brick the wiiU if HBC is installed. I didn't have a problem with someone installing it on the wii so they could add an external hard drive but, since the wiiU has that capability.....brick it.
