Sony have announced a the PS Vita TV which is a small version of the Vita that is linked to the TV.

It plays Vita games, although it uses a standard handheld controller, and it streams movies.

So far so meh...

Until you realise that it also streams games from your PS4 to another screen ... from the advert it looks like this happens whilst the PS4 is being used for movies.

Cost $95 / £70ish - but currently only announced in Japan.

Sonyís brand-new PlayStation Vita TV box already has the power to play PSP, PSOne and PS Vita games on your telly, and itíll be capable of beaming over games from your PS4 on the same network when next-gen rolls around, but what about Sonyís current flagship console, the PlayStation 3? The Japanese giant has now said that it could very well stream down PS3 titles too, which would make the device a powerhouse in your pocket and something the Ouya should be very afraid of!

In an interview this week, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House, explained that the tiny PS Vita TV box could be technically capable of streaming down PlayStation 3 titles using the same cloud-based tech thatís set to bring PS3 games to the PS4, which means that with a solid broadband connection, you could effectively grab a tiny cloud-powered PS3 for around £60!

That could also open up other possibilities too. What if Sony created an OnLive-style service that would give you access to all-you-can-play PS3 titles for a fee (courtesy of Gaikaiís game streaming tech which Sony snapped up last year), or if that was all possible through a PlayStation Plus subscription? Sony already gives you plenty of perks with PlayStation Plus, such as free classic games, and streaming older PS3 games to the Vita TV box could be the Ouya killer you never knew was possible. Weíll have to wait and see what Sony has in store, but thereís no doubt now that the Vita TV box could shake up the whole micro console market even before it takes off.
