For you zombie lovers.

Earlier this year, (http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/10/04/nycc-george-a-romero-does-zombies-at-marvel-comics)Marvel Comics (http://www.ign.com/companies/marvel)teased a new zombie project (http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/02/22/marvel-of-the-dead) that would be coming in the fall. That teaser, coupled with claims made by (http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/10/04/nycc-george-a-romero-does-zombies-at-marvel-comics)George A. Romero (http://www.ign.com/stars/george-a-romero) that he was working on something at the publisher, led to one obvious conclusion: the projects were one and the same! Marvel revealed today that the project is called Empire of the Dead and is a mini-series written by Romero with art by Alex Maleev. My eldest had some mates over for his 13th Birthday at the weekend, and I was chatting to one of his buddies about this and that. He then just casually drops that his Dad is an artist for DC Comics amongst other things!
Lee Garbett (https://twitter.com/LeeGarbett?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp% 7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) is his name and he draws some pretty good stuff.

Aaah. Look at that. Awesome. In another life, that would have been my dream job. Dabbled in comics for a while, ended up doing mostly editorial cartoons for smaller newspapers, and the odd illustration job. Strange how things change though. Haven't picked up a pencil in years. Used to be so important.
