Exactly! But then what would stop a family who wanted on from buying a second console? I see their point.

Unless it's changed since I used it, Remote Play can only be accessed by the Primary PS User. When my son used it on a sub account it would not work.
They would need to have their own PSN account, and even then you could not play at the same time because the PS is basically mirroring to the PC like Apple TV or similar.

Has anyone tried Remote Play while both PS4 & PC are on Wi-Fi? I have heard mixed reports of this being an issue.

    No.

My PS4 is hardwired and I tried The Division on Mac (Wifi through x2 concrete walls) which worked online with no signal/frame rate drop.
And played on my kids laptop (wifi) with some stuttering on Rocket League.

For me it is a handy - Lounge TV being used and I want a quick fix.
Or a - it's gone past stupid o'clock and I can speak loudly in the Gimp cave although with poorer graphics/ comfort.

*Edit. I read, that with all these things, they should stabilise after a few weeks once interest dies down and Sonys end isn't being hammered.

Doubt I'll have much use for it then. I got a PS TV for xmas, and it has PS4 remote play to a TV and I have yet to use the damn thing.

    Presto Bitch!!

Yeah. Like I said, these options are very cool, just think there's a very small group who will actually use it.

PS TV worked well and I used it alot but my bedroom TV that I bought back in 2008 is slowing dying out. Watching TV on it is still ok but games are very dark even if brightness, etc is on full blast and then there is also the added bonus of screen burning. Would of been great if I could plug it into my laptop but now there is PC streaming so my problem has been solved.

I don't see an interest in remote play over wifi :) There are just so many things that can go wrong...

    To add to my experience.

    Positives -
A good escape route for when the family TV is busy.
All online experiences have so far run smoothly (on Av. 30 Mbps down Wifi)

    Negatives -
Mic is disabled, ruling out the only advantage of being able to talk loudly in the man cave.
Cannot Broadcast Play whilst using it.

In summary, its another option to increase game time.
