New 'Playcast' app allows Remote Play to your iOS devices.

Just a quick note to say that PS4 Remore Play now allows mic integration since the last update.
I can confirm it works (although just the mic with my setup, headsets still do not work through the controller)

Does that mean you connect your headset/mic to your computer then?

And just how remote is this remote play? Asking for a friend currently on a business trip with no connecting flights to Bolivia.

Last time I tried the Mac didn't support a headphone/ mic combo, because Apple are...how can I describe them?...Twats!
So I plug the mic into the controller and audio comes out of the speakers. To be honest I didn't try the headset in the Mac/ mic in the controller combo.

    I never actually tried the

but Remote Play did work on my sons laptop as well as the desktop.
But I have a strong feeling that you have to be on the same network to use the service.
There may well be ways to work around this, but I'm not sure.

I got a USB plug on my mic'ed headset, so that might work on the pc. Would be cool to be able to play on the ipad, but seems unlikely what with all the connections and adapters it surely requires. Thanks for info, though. Might be worth a try for those single players I never get to play, but might choose to if I could do it from the couch at home whilst rubbing my wife's feet at the same time. Possible, I think, with games like Journey and Day of the Tentacle.

If I understood it correctly, you can access Remote Play from any broadband internet connection. Can't confirm though. There's an option in the PS4 settings to automatically allow Remote Play. That one has to be activated. Waking up the Console over LAN doesn't work for me, so your friend would need someone to fire up the thing and then switch off the power savings stuff. Oh, and hope there's no outage whilst he's away.
