    Xbox One S

Okay, so this isn't "new news", but the Xbox One S is out. Sleeker, smaller, and has 4k output.

One thing I did see while reading reviews....you cannot hook your Kinect into it without an adapter. I guess in order to make it smaller and such they couldn't provide power to the Kinect. So you need an adapter that plugs into a wall outlet.

You can get the adapter free, however.

For a limited time, the Kinect Adapter will be available for free to customers who have an existing Xbox One console, an Xbox One Kinect Sensor, and an Xbox One S console. You will need the serial number for all three devices to get the free Xbox Kinect Adapter. To request your free Kinect Adapter, contact Xbox Support.

To save time, we recommend that you make sure your Xbox One S console, original Xbox One console, and Xbox One Kinect Sensor are registered to your Microsoft account. Go to Device Support to register your devices.

Picked it up last night. Not a fan of the power brick on the inside, but I wanted to check it out so added it to my collection.

    A few quick highlights:

The size is much smaller than the VCR size of the original xBone.

    The OS runs MUCH faster.

Still 3 USB ports, which I used all of them on the old console (headset USB stick, external hard drive, charging cord). With this unit, you must use one of the USB ports for Kinect, so I was bummed. But I just switched my controller charging cord to one of the TV's USB ports.

You need an adapter to use Kinect with this unit. Ordering a free one from MS was quick and painless.

Power button is actually a button, not touch sensitive. No more accidental switching off from kids/pets.

Despite the internal power brick, this unit runs MUCH cooler than the original (which ran about 1/4 of the heat of the PS4).

    A few comparison pics below:

Is that a microwave in the background or the PS4?

    (Yes, I went there)

That's his early version of the PS Neo...

Another bonus that Sony could take note on; the One S came with a super high quality vertical stand for the console. Years better in quality than the one I had to pay $12 for to support my PS4...
