    Remote Play lagging? Try this.

When Remote Play came out I was pretty underwhelmed because I got stuttering screen, audio breakup and input lag. Poking around, I read a suggestion that the lag was coming from the controller plugged in the PC.

The solution that is working for me so far is plugging into Remote Play on a different account that you want to use (using my son's in this case) and then hitting the PS button on a controller NOT plugged into Remote Play and selecting the account you want at the prompt.

Thanks for the tip, I may give it another go.
As useful as it was to be able to pick up a game when I got booted off the main TV, the lag killed games like R6/ BF for me on Remote Play.
Lack of mic integration was a bummer too.

I find this interesting, but I don't quite get the consept: Do you plug a controller in your laptop and then play via some software or website? Isn't it possible to plug the mic in the controller then? Or via the laptop mic socket(if there is one)?

Yep, you download the software (in my case to a Mac) and then plug in the remote via USB and launch the Remote Play.
I could never find a way to get the mic to work using conventional methods.
It is more than likely that I could be missing something.

Thanks. Asked google - it seems you're right, there isn't support for mic through Remote Play. But there is a way around it, albeit a bit limited, and demands you are within range of your console:

I guess basically the idea is, you connect to the game via remote play, but to the chat/party through the console as usual. Haven't been able to test it though, because remote play requires my ps4 to be my primary ps4, which is a problem since I'm sharing games and plus subscription with my son on his ps4. *sigh* What a mess.

P.S. I don't have a second controller, but it turns out a tablet with the PS app in second-screen mode works just as well.
