    March Update

Major Nelson gives us the details:

    Is Beam replacing Twitch?

    The new guide looks nifty.

Removing key features: snap mode = gone, single-tap-to-go-home = gone, live active app on the dashboard = gone, voice commands in Microsoft apps = gone. Toss that all in with Kinect gesture navigation, IR controller assignment, gone.

This is not the system I bought into. I'll give it a bit, but I'm seriously thinking of dropping Xbox and going more to PC.

I've been one of Kinect's biggest defenders, but it has been obvious for some time that Microsoft is letting it die. I'm not surprised to see voice- and gesture- based features disappear. The S requires an adapter for Kinect, and I'd be shocked if Scorpio supports it at all.

It's really unfortunate that they have listened to the vocal minority online who bash on Kinect voice commands. I blame a lot of it on the gaming media who I still believe are just paid Sony spokesmen.

The amount of Kinect voice commands Ive used = 1. "Xbox, record that".

If freeing up more RAM means losing a couple of features, Im ok with that.

Well, all in all I still bought the console for gaming, so wouldn't drop it.

Sad to see snap feature gone. I did utilize that.

I too was a Kinect defender. I couldn't imagine the system without it, but it's obviously under utilized. Though, like Smokey, I rarely use it (turn off and on the console and recording things).

I can evolve with anything, just as I did when Microsoft completely changed the console I bought into before it even came out.

I use snap and voice commands a good bit, so those both change how I use the console significantly. :-/

I loved the snap stuff, especially snapping TV while playing a game. Very useful during the Stanley Cup playoffs.

I could never, mentally, get past using my Xbox to watch TV. I didnt feel like it was efficient to have the One on all day, every day, for everything. So I only had the TV run through for a brief time. Part of me wishes I wouldve utilized it a bit more but it didnt really add any value to me. My TV is also only 47". Didnt really workout well to snap TV while playing a game :(
